I love this Girl!

I love this girl even when she makes a mess, which is daily, several times a day!
The hubs and I had a dental appointment and we took Little B for her first check up.  She kept a tight clench on her jaw, and was not going to let anybody see her teeth!  We will try again in another year.

My parents came for a visit, and we had snacks one night.  The next morning Little B found the snacks we left out and helped herself.  It was so cute I had to take a picture. I like that she is lickin the creamy middle!  She said "Hi Mom, Snacks"!
Another mess!  This time in my craft closet!  UGH!!!

This girl LOVES her a swing and a slide!
 She's a mover and a shaker!
One of her and my favorite times of day.  Rest time on Daddy's night night.

Now, Look What I've Done

I got this for Christmas

and this for my birthday

and together we've made these.  I have had so much fun
creating and playing!

Spiced up my Kitchen Aid

$2.00 plate from my favorite place to visit EVERY time I'm in Utah
Turned into decorative wall art
Food Storage Labels

A cute place to store my powder laundry soap and stain release.  Still trying to decide what to put on the soap canister.  Any suggestions?
Another dish from this place.  You have to check it out if you are ever in Utah.  I think this plate was $3 or $4
And lastly, Little Bs chairs needed a little pazazz!  I love the end results!

Play Table

This is a story how I turned this...
image

To this

Before assembling the pieces I spray painted them

Don't you just love my spray station?

I did not prime before painting and Little B got this for Christmas and has played with this every single day since then.  This has held up great and still looks as good as Christmas Day.
I put three coats of chalkboard paint on the table top then assembled all the pieces and

WA LA!

Little B loves her table!  She likes to eat lunch here with Teddy and Minnie.  After I painted the chalkboard paint, I had a terrible thought.  "Way to teach her that its ok to color on table tops" But you know what?  She hasn't tried to color on any so far.  I also worry about her coloring with her crayons, but so far so good.

Photobucket

I am totally going to be making this one soon!  Keeping my eye out for board books at yard sales now!  For a great tutorial go here.

$4.00 Picture Frame

 Frame - Yard Sale $2.00
All I did was remove the canvas print, and the fabric center part came out with it.  I actually prefered it without.
Put the frame on my handy dandy official spray paint station/clothes rack.  Gave it a nice coat of grey primer and well... I liked it so much I didn't use the black spray paint that I actually bought for it.
What do you think?

It's My Turn

Yes that's right ladies and gents!  I now have the ca ca crud that's been going around the neighborhood, church, work, and home.  First the hubs had it, then Little B and yup you guessed it.... Its my turn!

I wanted yesterday to be a romantic day and well.... we did spend the day together,  It started off here

And then we came home and rested for a few hours and then we went to the movie and saw this

Bwa ha ha ha ha.  It was pretty funny!  Not I can't wait for it to come out on DVD funny so I can own it, but I'd say definitely I'd watch it again.  Maybe Netflix it or, maybe even RedBox it.
And then after we ate here.

Red Lobster

By this time I really was not well at all.  Running to the restroom blowing my nose and trying to keep it together.  Trying to keep the romance going... Bla bla bla.  Well, it didn't happen.  Though the day was fun, and I totally can't wait for another day with my Valentine.  If I'm not well, I'm canceling.
I tell you what... I can't believe I am standing today.... Except that believe it or not, I had a root canal this morning at 8:30 am.  My mouth is still numb.  My eye is teary and I still can't breathe through my nose.  Have you ever had a mouth impression with the goopy goop they tell you to bite down on and then wait until it sets.....  Yes well, I had that twice and both times I thought death was near.  I couldn't breathe through my nose so I was ever so slowly taking in any air that I could through the tiny cracks in the corners of my mouth that wasn't filled with the fake minty nasty goopy goop.  But alas I survived and now, well.... I am sitting here half asleep and not well.  Little B is sound asleep in her bed and I am hoping she will stay asleep for another hour while I try for some shut eye myself.

Happy Valentines Day

This is how my day started, if you don't count the hour and a half I got to snuggle a sick baby at 3:00 am
It was so fun watching her with her Valentines from Mommy and Daddy.

Little B has no idea that inside this "Shoe Heart" is chocolate.  We will save that for another day.
She has carried around Woody and Rex all day
I made french toast with strawberries, bananas and whipped cream.  It was a yummy sweet Valentines breakfast!

Yesterday she looked too dang cute to not take any pictures.  If we could only get her to sit still long enough for the photo.  Oh well.  Better luck next time.
And the weather was AMAZING!  Spring is on the way!
But Don't get me wrong.  I have a Valentine too.  Brett has to work late tonight, so we will be celebrating our love tomorrow.  We have a sitter for Little B for the entire day.  Its going to be a great day!  I will try to remember the camera so we can document the day.

The First 5 Years

Sicely & Heidi did a great job teaching this class at our Women's Conference last Saturday.  I didn't want the class to end.  I just sat there absorbing it all.  We got a 4 page handout copied front and back.

They spent most of the class touching on these topics
Speak with love
Touch with love
See with love
Listen with love
Sing with love
Play with love
Work with love
Create with love
Teach with love
Read with love
Discipline with love

Love, Love, Love

This poem was in the packet given and boy is it a good one for me these days!

Excuse This House

Some houses try to hide the fact that children live there...
Ours boasts of it quite openly, the signs are everywhere.
Four smears are on the windows, little smudges on the doors...
I should apologize I guess for the toys all over the floor.
But I sat down with the children and we played & laughed & read.
And if the doorbell doesn't shine their eyes will shine instead.
For when at times I'm forced to choose the one job or the other.
I want to be a housewife, but first i am a Mother.

I have been feeling like a failure lately, when it comes to the state my home is in.  I mean some days there are toys spread out in each and EVERY room of this this tiny 2 bedroom condo.  The sink is full of dishes, and the floor is littered with who knows what.  But hey, I have a great relationship with my sweet precious gift from heaven, and hey, because its a tiny 2 bedroom condo, it doesn't take too long to pick it all up.

Now, look what I found today.

She really didn't get the fact that coloring on her belly was naughty.  All she wanted to do was see herself in the movie.  What a stinker!  Oh, and yes, that is a Santa Clause shirt she is wearing today on Feb 2nd.  It was the closest one with long sleeves I found.  BRRRR its cold today, the high here was 44 the normal for this day is 68 - that's a 24 degree difference.

I have had several different jobs in my life.  But being a mom has been the most rewarding, and enjoyable, and above all else hardest one EVER!  A friend of mine posted on Facebook last week that her 3 year old daughter colored all over her sofa with a blue felt tip marker.... Her comment was "Now I get a new sofa.... When she graduates from high school"  I absolutely loved that.  What could she do? The damage was done.  Yee haw, now she has something to look forward to in the next 14 years!

A Day of Learning

Last Saturday I was able to attend what I call "The Most Amazing Day in a Very Very Very Long Time" day.  It was Women's Conference through our Church.  This particular conference was set up with the choice of attending 4 different mini classes, there were 18 to choose from.  I chose:

The First 5 Years - What are the characteristics of children five and under?  Learn about your young ones and how to meet their special needs.  Learn how you can help them learn and grow in preparation for their elementary years.

A Place for Everything and Everything in its Place - This class will focus on a way to increase energy, reduce stress, and build self-esteem through 5-step organizing--the proven process to organize anything.

Simple Suppers- "If you teach a recipe, all you have is one recipe.  If you teach a technique, then you have thousands of options!" paraphrased from Iron Chef Michael Simon.  Come learn techniques for fast and easy meals and leave with some fast and easy recipes as well!

Decorating on a Dime-The fun of this class is to see how little you spend and how great it looks.  The biggest reward is that you can do it yourself!  You will amaze yourself at what you can do for just pennies.

I am going to post what I learned from each of these classes and I will start with the first one, and go from there.  I did ask permission to post the handouts.  I am so excited to share with you what I learned and how I plan to add this knowledge in my every day life.
